The Inaugural Conference of the Alliance for Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Clinical Bases on Atopic Dermatitis, organized and led by Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was successfully held in Shanghai.
The conference brought together experts and representatives from 50 medical institutions and research organizations across China, and specially invited the Hôpital d’Enfants de Margency, Croix-Rouge Française (French Red Cross Margency Children’s Hospital) to join as an international partner, marking a milestone in China–France medical cooperation.
Held under the framework of the National Clinical Collaboration Project on Major and Difficult Diseases of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, jointly approved by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM), the National Health Commission, and the Health Bureau of the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission, the event aimed to integrate the strengths of Chinese and Western medicine and promote the standardization, systematization, and internationalization of atopic dermatitis prevention and treatment.
The conference was co-chaired by Prof. Li Fulun, President of Yueyang Hospital, and Prof. Ma Lin from Beijing Children’s Hospital, Capital Medical University. During the event, the Alliance for Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Clinical Bases on Atopic Dermatitis was officially launched, followed by the signing and unveiling ceremonies for member institutions.
As a highlight, the Hôpital d’Enfants de Margency (French Red Cross) formally signed and unveiled its partnership as an international cooperative member institution with Yueyang Hospital. This collaboration marks a major step forward in China–France cooperation in the fields of pediatric atopic dermatitis prevention and treatment, chronic disease management, and digital pathology. The partnership will further promote in-depth exchanges between Chinese and European medical communities in chronic disease care and integrative medicine research.
During the conference, experts from institutions including Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of TCM, and Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM shared their clinical and research experiences in integrative diagnosis and treatment, collaborative research, and standardization efforts for atopic dermatitis. Participants unanimously agreed that the establishment of the Alliance provides an innovative multidisciplinary platform for atopic dermatitis management in China and sets a new model for the international promotion of integrative medicine.
The successful convening of this conference not only signifies the full launch of China’s integrative prevention and treatment system for atopic dermatitis, but also opens a new chapter in China–Europe cooperation in dermatological research and talent exchange. Moving forward, the Alliance will leverage its multi-center clinical and research resources to advance the clinical translation of integrative diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, serving the health of patients worldwide.
