Our History

From Early Academic Engagement to a Eurasian Cooperation Platform (2005–Present)

Early Foundations (2005–2015)

The origins of Medi-Bridges EurAsie trace back to 2005, when early academic exchanges between China and Europe began during medical and public health studies in France. These initial interactions fostered professional networks and long-term relationships between institutions and experts across regions.

Throughout the following years, continued exchanges, professional visits, and academic collaboration gradually built a foundation of trust and mutual understanding. Although informal at the time, these early engagements laid the groundwork for future institutional cooperation.

Institutional Formation (2016)

Building on this foundation, the Sino–French Health Research Institute https://ifcsante.com/index.php/fr/ was established in France in 2016. This marked the beginning of structured organizational collaboration between Chinese and European partners in the fields of medicine and public health.

The institute focused on facilitating academic exchange, institutional networking, and professional dialogue, transforming earlier informal cooperation into a more coordinated and sustainable framework.

Platform Consolidation (2020)

As cooperation expanded in scope and depth, the European–China School of Public Health https://www.ecsph.org/ was formally established in Paris in 2020. This represented an important step toward institutional consolidation.

The platform strengthened governance structures, supported long-term research collaboration, promoted professional training initiatives, and facilitated partnerships between universities, hospitals, and public health institutions. It marked the transition from a cooperation initiative to a continuously operating institutional platform.

Strategic Expansion: Medi-Bridges EurAsie (2024–Present)

In 2024, Medi-Bridges EurAsie was founded in Nyon, Switzerland, reflecting a broader Eurasian vision and a more integrated cooperation framework.

The establishment of the Swiss headquarters represents a strategic evolution. Moving beyond bilateral cooperation, the platform now supports multilateral engagement across Europe and Asia. Switzerland provides a stable, neutral, and internationally recognized base for long-term institutional collaboration.

Today, Medi-Bridges EurAsie operates as a practical cooperation platform dedicated to:

  • Facilitating medical exchange and professional training

  • Supporting academic and research collaboration

  • Promoting healthcare partnerships

  • Encouraging innovation and knowledge transfer

With nearly two decades of engagement and almost ten years of institutional development, the platform continues to expand its network and strengthen cross-regional medical cooperation across Eurasia.

From early academic exchange to a structured international cooperation platform, the development of Medi-Bridges EurAsie reflects a gradual and organic evolution driven by professional commitment and long-term partnerships.

What began as individual academic engagement has grown into a Switzerland-based platform serving institutions and professionals across continents — building sustainable bridges in medicine and healthcare between Europe and Asia.
